Almost time to say goodbye to Aruba! I had another wonderful week here where the days were filled with work and sun and the evenings with catching up with my friend and great meals... I think I know more restaurants here than in my own hometown by now!
Hopefully tomorrow I will be able to catch up with one of my old friends Anco .
If everything went well for him he arrived on the island tonight. Tomorrow I have to pack, return the car, have to work a little bit more, check in my luggage at the airport, meet my friends Petrina and Eric again , have a last meal (probably at the Dutch Pancakehouse) and then off to the airport again
to catch the plane back to Amsterdam to see all the (3) men in my life again :).
I think I can see the week was very useful but I also enjoyed every minute, have had enough light therapy for at least a month (and hopefully to get me through the rest of the winter), lol....
Have a great evening!

It's raining on Aruba!
It is raining now so I have a moment to update my blog! It is the first rain since I got here Friday night so it isn't too bad right? And 29 degrees Celsius is totally opposite from what I see on CNN (when I am watching news about Obama) or what I saw on Emily's 365 blog
Today I worked to get the presentation ready for Wednesday, I want to finish off a program for ourselves too but I will have time to do that tomorrow.
Last night I had dinner at my friend's place, at Sero Biento.
If you have plans or dreams to go to Aruba, they have such a dream place and so affordable. Eric now even put a jacuzzi in the garden (of course also for the guests to use), the small swimmingpool was already there. I forgot to take photos of the jacuzzi but I am sure he will put some up on their website soon!
Other than the little bit of rain everything is fine here. I love having my own car now that I am not staying in Oranjestad but at Eagle Beach. I have a good hotel and the food is excellent here (we tried that on Saturday)... since I did not run any errands today (like I did at Ling & Sons yesterday, I might eat at Mango's again tonight!
Have a great evening!!

Ice & Farewell CTs
Hi,
Just 3 more days until I leave for a businesstrip to Aruba. I started the New Year with a major decision for me... I quit my CTs! I had two left, Melissa Bennett's and Sherry Ferguson's and although it hurt me, I just couldn't justify being member of the CT with so little time to scrap! I hope it will change some day so that I can make more time for CT obligations but for now, IF I can scrap I want to do it for ME! This year (2009) I haven't made one layout yet! But it doesn't mean I will give up on digital scrapbooking, no way! I still have the Hyves group, will publish on my blog and perhaps in the future I will find other great designers to CT for!
Back to here and now... the past weeks it has been very cold here and for the first time our kids have been on the ice to sled and skate! We live in an area with lots of water and this all turned into great places to ice skate. I regretted a lot that I didn't buy skates for myself in Austria at Hofer
where I saw ice skates for only 19,99 euros!
Anyway the kids spent a lot of time on the ice last week. Thursday the school took them to a little lake nearby and during the weekend we took them as well. Here are a few pics:

Austria to Aruba
Yes... there must be about 40 degrees Celsius difference between Austria and Aruba and I am in the middle of travelling between them... Last Saturday we got back (with a lot of traffic jams) from the Ponyhof... I would recommend it to anyone, great location, great food etc.... I just hope the owner will be a little bit more friendly to the Dutch guests :). You will be able to read a full trip report soon, I haven't finished uploading all the days yet, nor the photos! Just a couple of pics now:
I started working again on Monday and also school started again for the boys. There is a lot of cold here in Holland too (just like in Austria) and today I even took the boys to school on the sled! Tomorrow morning the school is organizing an ice skating activity for all groups so I am curious if they will like it on the ice!
And Friday next week I will probably be on the plane to Aruba again for business... where it is 29 degrees celsius!
That's all for now...
